Zion National Park & Kodachrome Basin State Park, 4/3/12

Zion National Park & Kodachrome Basin State Park, 4/3/12: On the Road Again Tuesday Apr. 3 leaving Zion National Park.

The road to the Tunnel to enter and exit Zion Canyon National Park from the east.

Exiting through the Tunnel. Height restrictions of 13' 11" in center and 11'4" on the side. We are 9' 6".

This area of rocks is called petrified sandstone. So interesting to see.

Checkerboard Mesa. Unusual to have vertical and horizontal lines. Along the road we saw 3 different packs of deer in the fields. A total of 12.

After stopping at Panguitch for fuel and propane we arrived in Kodachrome Basin State Park.

We drove a gravel road and hike .5 mile to view Shakespeare Arch. Just amazing nature.

Next hike the Grand Parade Trail (1.5 miles).

Box canyon. No where to go but out.

Phil moving the stone from the tomb.

Location:Zion National Park & Canyonville, UT.
