What I thought was rain during the night was freezing rain. The electricity went out sometime overnight. We were warm because our furnace runs on propane. Phil switched the refrig from electric to propane. When we tried to take showers in the morning in the bathhouse ....no water. (They are push button showers, dependent on electricity.)
Roads were NOT icy when we got on the road.

Phil nor I chose to get up and ride but we saw people get on.

At the Welcome Center
Steps behind the cattle are what the workers of Swift and Armour walked up to go to work.
Livestock sold since 1896 - 1959. 500,000 horses and mules. 50,000,000 cattle, over 50,000,000 sheep and over 33,000,000 hogs.
Armour and Swift Packing Companies were huge employers of the area.
We saw many stars for the Texas Trail of Fame.
