Traveling West 2011 8-13

On the Road Again Saturday Aug. 13. Happy birthday to our daughter-in-law, Yvonne. So glad to have you in our family.

We went on a search for more bisons. After our trip yesterday we talked to people who had seen 50 bison, so we left at 8:15 hoping it was early enough to see some.

Sure enough.

More and more.

Think between the two herds we saw 50. If you look close you can seethe prairie dogs in the second photo.

Then to the town of Medora so we could pick up Wi-Fi. Ellie downloaded 3 audio books from our local library that she had on a waiting list. Phil and Ellie watched the Super Bowl XLV winners, Green Bay Packers at the White House.

On the way to the Petrified Forest we saw an oil well.

Our hike was 1 1/2 hours. Thankful for a beautiful breeze.

Saw two petrified logs.

Lots of petrified portions.

And neat rock formations.

Our RV is afar in the parking lot. We were so impressed with the scenery and nature in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Highly recommend a visit to all.

Look out in the Fort Peck Dam area.

Beautiful green and gold fields of Montana. We stayed at Cottonwood Inn and RV park on a hill above Glasgow, MT. Reasonable price for full hook up and we were able to use the Inn's swimming pool. I miss water aerobics; the pool felt so good. We slept so good.

Location:ND & MT
