Glacier National Park, 6/11-13/2014

On the road again Thursday June 12. A day to soak in the sunshine and beauty of the pines and lake and no driving except Phil and Tom went into town for supplies. Linda and I spent time planning our route to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and then onto Alaska. Tom, Linda and I went for a hike after lunch to Rocky Point on MacDonald Lake. Very peaceful, only saw five other hikers. Watched kayakers on the lake.
Watched this deer visit the vacant campsites. When he found nothing to eat he enjoyed what nature gives him. It was another evening chatting around our fire pit.

On the road again Friday June 13 to Many Glacier area.
 It's foggy and overcast.
After we got our campsite we hiked to Red Rock Falls. It started to mist just after we started our 2 hour hike. It continued between a mist and a light rain.
But we can laugh in our rain ponchos.
The Falls were spectacular.   It's amazing to see so much rushing water. Didn't take as many photos as usual because of the rain.
A little wooden bridge to cross.
We rode with Tom and Linda to the Many Hotel area. We walked to the top of the knoll above the Hotel to try to see the three Glaciers visible from that spot. I think we missed them. Gem, Salamander and Grinnell. We'll goggle them later to see what we missed. Maybe they were in the clouds.

It was interesting to see a poster about the first visitors to the Hotel. They came by horseback.

Our rain ponchos dried on the clothesline we strung. But jeans took overnight. Another great day of this wonderful landscape.
