New Mexico, 2/19/12, Carlsbad Caverns

On the Road Again Monday Feb. 19. Brrr. Ellie forgot to close the ceiling fan. Fresh cool mountain air came in all night. But it was good sleeping under the covers. The bright sun warmed the RV quickly.

We attended Mass at St. Edward's in Carlsbad New Mexico. THe picture show the altar after Mass. What a vibrant community and service. Because we were visitors we had to introduce ourselves near the end of Mass. Father Cyprian, a Franciscan, said he was from Chicago Heights so we chatted with him after the service. We also supported the Parish's cooks sale.

We toured the Big Room at Carlsbad Caverns. We took the elevator down 750 feet.

Two Lion's tail

Tallest in the Cavern.

Totem pole

Ladder the early explorers used.

The Big Room is the size of 14 football fields. It was a 1.25 mile hike.

We stayed at Carlsbad RV Park in Carlsbad, N. M.

Location:Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico
